Dive Training

Small groups and individual attention

Diving courses with Dive Azores are conducted in an enjoyable, friendly and relaxed atmosphere by a team of professional and experienced diving instructors.
At Dive Azores we offer most PADI courses from beginner to advanced levels and specialties, and our instructors teach mostly in English, Portuguese, Spanish and French. Our schedules are quite flexible and tailored to each student’s needs and abilities - we always keep the groups small to guarantee high safety standards and that each student receives the proper attention.

PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) is the world’s leading scuba diving training organization, with thousands of dive centers and resorts worldwide, and issuing scuba diving certifications that are internationally accepted and recognized. Dive Azores is a PADI Dive Resort dedicated to giving you the best in diver education.

PADI courses are performance-based and you progress at your own pace, faster or slower depending upon the time you need to become a confident diver. At Dive Azores we don’t believe in “profit-based” diving courses. Recreational diving is not too difficult, but it takes time to manage the skills and gain comfort underwater - we proud ourselves of being demanding and rigorous in our courses, with no training shortcuts, so that students gain the best education possible to dive responsibly worldwide. Whether teaching beginner or advanced levels, we always try to enrich our courses with valuable tips and knowledge acquired throughout years of experience diving.

All our courses include an identification lecture on local marine species by our marine biologists. Join us and be sure that our professional and encouraging instructors will make your diving course a memorable experience!

“One Sunday morning in 1936 at Le Mourillon, near Toulon, I waded into the Mediterranean and looked into it through Fernez goggles. I was a regular Navy gunner, a good swimmer interested only in perfecting my crawl style. The sea was merely a salty obstacle that burned my eyes. I was astounded by what I saw in the shallow shingle at Le Mourillon, rocks covered with green, brown and silver forests of algae and fishes unknown to me, swimming in crystalline water. Standing up to breathe I saw a trolley car, people, electric-light poles. I put my eyes under again and civilization vanished with one last bow. I was in a jungle never seen by those who floated on the opaque roof.” Jacques-Yves Cousteau, The Silent World
